Travel Tips
Aesthetic Light Show: Visit at night to see the San Juanico Aesthetic Lighting. Static lights are on nightly (6 PM – 10 PM/12 AM), while dynamic "dancing" lights typically run every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Best Views: For the safest photos, use the San Juanico Bridge View Deck and Boardwalk on the Leyte side. It features a 450-meter suspended deck specifically for tourists.
Current Restrictions (Feb 2026): The bridge is undergoing final structural retrofitting. It is currently open to two-way traffic with a 15-ton load limit. Full restoration for 33-ton loads is expected by mid-2026.
No Parking: Vehicles are strictly prohibited from stopping or parking on the bridge itself. Use the designated parking areas at either end if you wish to walk.
Pedestrian Walk: You can walk across the bridge using the side paths. Note that it vibrates when heavy vehicles pass; this is a normal structural feature.
