Sohoton Natural Bridge National Park
Western Samar
About
Sohoton Natural Bridge National Park in Samar Island is a UNESCO-recognised natural wonder featuring massive limestone arches formed by river erosion over thousands of years. The park's centrepiece is a towering natural stone bridge spanning the Cadac-an River, surrounded by old-growth forest filled with fireflies, gibbons, and rare Philippine eagles. Night tours of the caves reveal dazzling bioluminescent displays from fireflies and glowworms. The park is one of the Philippines' most awe-inspiring natural heritage sites.

Travel Tips
Hire a registered local guide before entering — the trails are uneven and some sections require wading through shallow streams. Bring insect repellent and wear long sleeves for jungle sections. The night cave tour must be pre-booked with the park office at least a day in advance. During heavy rains, some river sections may be inaccessible; always check with locals before going.
