Biliran
The cascading waterfalls of Almeria in Biliran Island offer adventurous visitors the chance to hike through dense rainforest and discover multi-level waterfalls plunging into deep natural pools ideal for swimming. The most popular, Tomalistis Falls, drops over 30 metres through a curtain of mist into a jade-green plunge pool surrounded by giant tree ferns and mossy boulders. The trek to the falls passes through working coconut and abaca plantations where visitors can interact with local farming families. Almeria's waterfalls are accessible year-round but most spectacular during and just after the wet season.
